イギリスに住んで早十数年。毎年３〜４月のどこかに巡ってくるイースターには、町のあちこちに可愛くて美味しそうなたまごやうさぎ形のチョコレートやパーティのデコレーション雑貨が溢れます。子たちが小さかった頃は、学校やイベント、友達との集まりでイースターにちなんだ可愛いクラフトやチョコレートのたまご探しをしたりするのがおなじみの行事でした。この絵本は、みんなで春のお祝いをする楽しさと、「子どもたちが楽しみでしかたないチョコレートのたまご。もしもいたずらうさぎが盗んでいってしまったら？」の空想から広がった不思議なアドベンチャーをミックスして作りました。春が近づいてきたら、親子みなさんで読んでもらえたらうれしいです。
